The Core #8: People first, technology last

This has been a long-standing principle, since the web was invented. It might seem odd to some people, coming from a systems and technology geek. But if you've ever worked in UX or service design, you'll understand.
If the technology doesn't help you or your team achieve the things you're trying to, then you're doing it wrong.
You don't need to use fancy service design techniques or natty frameworks like jobs-to-be-done. Just take a step back, be clear about what it is you're really trying to achieve, then make some decisions about how different technologies might help you.
If you're not sure what current technology is capable of, ask someone.
